Richard Rimmer was born to a military family and at a young age fell in love with the idea of war. Not a tough man, he instead sought refuge in history, in the tactics and strategies of plans of battles long past. This gave him a skewed view of combat, as something clean and dignified and noble, an illusion that was soon shattered when he joined the EDC. Relying too much on rules and regulations, he often comes across as uptight and pompous. He does try hard however, and has the potential to be a great soldier if only he can get over himself.
